Promoting Preventive Health
CBRES focuses on preventive health and nutrition, with key interventions in Mother and Child Health—especially the crucial 1,000 days from conception to age two—and the health and well-being of adolescent girls. These are addressed through school- and community-based platforms. Regular health camps, workshops, door-to-door visits, and community sessions are conducted, with trained health workers identifying early signs of malnutrition, anemia, and other risks.
The program is active in 10 villages across 6 Gram Panchayats in Galsi II Block, Bardhaman District, West Bengal. Collaboration with local schools, ICDS centres, Panchayats, and health departments strengthens outreach. By promoting awareness and behavioral change, CBRES supports healthier futures for mothers, children, and adolescent girls.

OUR IMPACT
CBRES HEALTH INITIATIVE: A COMMUNITY-DRIVEN SUCCESS STORY
When CBRES began its health and nutrition interventions in rural West Bengal, many mothers, children, and adolescent girls lacked access to basic health education and preventive care. Malnutrition, anemia, and poor health practices were common, with limited awareness of early warning signs or available support.
Today, through focused community outreach, regular health camps, and the tireless work of trained volunteers, CBRES has reached over 1,000 individuals across 10 villages in Galsi II Block. Emphasizing the critical first 1,000 days of life and adolescent well-being, the program has significantly improved knowledge, behaviors, and early detection of health risks.
CBRES’s approach shows how grassroots, preventive health efforts—when combined with strong local partnerships—can transform communities and create lasting health outcomes for generations to come.
